The majority of children and youth will be exposed to at least one potentially traumatic event before graduating from high school. School staff play a critical role in addressing childhood trauma by recognizing the effects of trauma on students and families and responding in ways that foster healing and resilience. In this session we will discuss what trauma is, the types of trauma youth may face, the effects of trauma on youth, and what this means for school staff and schools. (General)
